Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Andhra Pradesh and Odisha on January 8 and 9 to launch, dedicate, and initiate multiple projects totaling over Rs 2 lakh crore, focusing on renewable energy, industrial growth, and infrastructure development.
In Andhra Pradesh, the Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone for NTPC Green Energy Ltd’s Green Hydrogen Hub Project at Pudimadaka. The project involves an estimated investment of Rs 1.85 lakh crore to create 20 GW of renewable energy capacity and produce 1,500 tonnes per day (TPD) of Green Hydrogen along with derivatives such as Green Methanol, Green Urea, and Sustainable Aviation Fuel.
The initiative is aligned with the National Green Hydrogen Mission, which seeks to achieve 500 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2030 and promote exports in the renewable energy sector.
The visit will also include the dedication and initiation of railway and road projects worth Rs 19,500 crore. These include the South Coast Railway Headquarters in Visakhapatnam. These developments are expected to enhance connectivity and support economic activity in the region.
In Tirupati District, the Chennai Bengaluru Industrial Corridor project will see the creation of a greenfield industrial smart city, which is anticipated to attract investments of Rs 10,500 crore and create around one lakh jobs.
On January 9, Prime Minister Modi will inaugurate the 18th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas Convention in Bhubaneswar, held in collaboration with the Odisha government. The event will take place under the theme, “Diaspora’s Contribution to a Viksit Bharat.” Representatives from over 50 countries will participate in discussions and collaborations with the Indian diaspora.
The Prime Minister will also remotely flag off the Pravasi Bharatiya Express, a tourist train under the Pravasi Teertha Darshan Yojana. The train will depart from Delhi’s Nizamuddin Railway Station, covering key cultural and religious sites across India.
