PM Modi to launch, inaugurate multiple health sector projects worth over Rs 12,850 crore today

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to launch, inaugurate, and lay the foundation stones for several health sector projects valued at approximately Rs 12,850 crore on Tuesday.

The event will be held at the All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA) in New Delhi, celebrating Dhanvantari Jayanti and the 9th Ayurveda Day

As a significant addition to the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PM-JAY), the Prime Minister will expand health coverage to include all senior citizens aged 70 and above. This initiative aims to ensure health coverage for all elderly citizens, irrespective of their income, aligning with the Prime Minister’s vision of providing accessible quality healthcare nationwide.

In a major enhancement of healthcare infrastructure, PM Modi will inaugurate Phase II of the All India Institute of Ayurveda, India’s first institution of its kind. This new phase includes a Panchakarma hospital, an Ayurvedic pharmacy for medicine production, a sports medicine unit, a central library, an IT and start-up incubation centre, and a 500-seat auditorium.

Additionally, the Prime Minister will inaugurate three new medical colleges in Mandsaur, Neemuch, and Seoni in Madhya Pradesh, further strengthening the country’s healthcare education infrastructure.

Further, he will inaugurate facility and service extensions at various AIIMS in Bilaspur in Himachal Pradesh, Kalyani in West Bengal, Patna in Bihar, Gorakhpur in Uttar Pradesh, Bhopal in Madhya Pradesh, Guwahati in Assam and in New Delhi, which will also include a Jan Aushadhi Kendra, the release added.

Further, he will inaugurate

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate a Super Speciality Block at the Government Medical College in Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh, along with a Critical Care Block in Bargarh, Odisha, as part of an extensive rollout of new healthcare facilities.

In Madhya Pradesh, the Prime Minister will lay the foundation for five Nursing Colleges in Shivpuri, Ratlam, Khandwa, Rajgarh, and Mandsaur. Under the Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission (PM-ABHIM), 21 Critical Care Blocks will be established across Himachal Pradesh, Karnataka, Manipur, Tamil Nadu, and Rajasthan. Additional expansions and service improvements will also be introduced at AIIMS facilities in New Delhi and Bilaspur, Himachal Pradesh.

Further strengthening the health network, PM Modi will inaugurate an ESIC Hospital in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, and lay the foundation stones for new ESIC hospitals in Faridabad, Haryana; Bommasandra and Narasapur in Karnataka; Meerut, Uttar Pradesh; Atchutapuram, Andhra Pradesh; and an additional one in Indore. These projects are expected to benefit approximately 55 lakh beneficiaries under the Employees’ State Insurance (ESI) scheme.

Highlighting his commitment to using advanced technology in service delivery, the Prime Minister will also launch drone-based healthcare services across 11 tertiary institutions, making medical resources more accessible. These institutions include AIIMS facilities in Rishikesh, Bibinagar, Guwahati, Bhopal, Jodhpur, Patna, Bilaspur, Raebareli, Raipur, Mangalagiri, and the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) in Imphal. Additionally, helicopter emergency medical services will commence at AIIMS Rishikesh to ensure faster medical response times in critical situations.

To support maternal and child health, PM Modi will introduce the U-WIN portal, a fully digital platform for managing vaccinations, which will help ensure timely immunizations for pregnant women and children against 12 preventable diseases.

The Prime Minister will also initiate “Desh Ka Prakriti Parikshan Abhiyan,” a national health awareness campaign, and unveil a State-specific Action Plan on Climate Change and Human Health for each state and union territory, outlining strategies to build climate-resilient healthcare systems across India.
