Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for healthcare projects worth approximately Rs 13,000 crore on Tuesday, in celebration of Dhanvantari Jayanti and the 9th Ayurveda Day.
The event will take place at the All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA) in New Delhi and will showcase key initiatives under the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PM-JAY), including the extension of health coverage to all citizens aged 70 and above.
It will also focus on expanding healthcare infrastructure and implementing technological advancements in health services across the country.
During the event, PM Modi will inaugurate several health initiatives and services, including Phase II of the All India Institute of Ayurveda, featuring a Panchakarma hospital, Ayurvedic pharmacy, sports medicine unit, library, IT incubation center, and a 500-seat auditorium; three new medical colleges in Madhya Pradesh, located in Mandsaur, Neemuch, and Seoni; service expansions across various All India Institutes of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), including new facilities in Bhopal, Bilaspur, and Patna; a super specialty block at Bilaspur Medical College in Chhattisgarh; and a critical care block in Bargarh, Odisha.
Additionally, PM Modi will lay the foundation stones for five nursing colleges in Madhya Pradesh and 21 Critical Care Blocks across five states: Himachal Pradesh, Karnataka, Manipur, Tamil Nadu, and Rajasthan, as part of the Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission (PM-ABHIM).
The Prime Minister will inaugurate an ESIC Hospital in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, and lay the foundation for additional ESIC hospitals in Faridabad, Haryana; Bommasandra and Narasapur, Karnataka; Indore, Madhya Pradesh; Meerut, Uttar Pradesh; and Atchutapuram, Andhra Pradesh.
To enhance emergency response, PM Modi will introduce Helicopter Emergency Medical Services from AIIMS Rishikesh and drone services at 11 tertiary healthcare institutions, including AIIMS Raipur and AIIMS Guwahati.
The Prime Minister will also launch the U-WIN portal to streamline vaccination records for pregnant women and children, along with a centralized portal for allied healthcare professionals. To bolster research capabilities, he will inaugurate a Central Drugs Testing Laboratory in Bhubaneswar and establish two Central Research Institutes in Yoga and Naturopathy in Odisha and Chhattisgarh.
To boost the “Make in India” initiative, PM Modi will inaugurate five new production facilities under the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme, aimed at manufacturing high-end medical devices and critical drugs.
PM Modi will also launch a nationwide campaign, “Desh Ka Prakriti Parikshan Abhiyan,” designed to raise health awareness among citizens. He will also unveil state-specific Action Plans on Climate Change and Human Health for each state and Union Territory, outlining adaptation strategies to develop climate-resilient healthcare services.
