Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit France and Slovakia from June 13 to 18, during which he will hold bilateral talks with French President Emmanuel Macron and Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico, participate in the G7 Summit in France and attend the VivaTech technology event in Paris.
According to the Ministry of External Affairs, PM Modi will begin his visit in Nice, France, where he will meet President Macron on June 14. The two leaders are expected to review the full spectrum of bilateral ties under the India-France Special Global Strategic Partnership.
The two leaders will also jointly inaugurate the ‘Bharat Innovates’ event, which will bring together startups and venture capital funds from India, France and other countries. The event is being held as part of the India-France Year of Innovation.
From June 14 to 16, PM Modi will undertake a State Visit to Slovakia at the invitation of Prime Minister Robert Fico. The visit will be the first by an Indian Prime Minister to Slovakia since the country’s independence in 1993.
During the visit,PM Modi will hold talks with Fico and meet Slovak President Peter Pellegrini. The discussions are expected to focus on expanding cooperation in areas including trade, investment, automobile manufacturing and railway manufacturing.
The visit follows President Droupadi Murmu’s State Visit to Slovakia in April 2025 and President Pellegrini’s visit to India for the AI Impact Summit in February this year.
PM Modi will then travel to Evian, France, to participate in the G7 Summit on June 16 and 17. He is expected to exchange views with G7 leaders and representatives of partner countries and international organisations on issues including international cooperation, economic growth and the deployment of artificial intelligence.
On the sidelines of the summit, the Prime Minister is also expected to hold bilateral meetings with several world leaders.
In the final leg of his visit, PM Modi will travel to Paris on June 18 for further bilateral engagements and to attend the VivaTech Summit, Europe’s largest technology and startup event. He is also expected to interact with members of the Indian community in the French capital.
The government said the visit is expected to deepen India’s engagement with France and Slovakia, strengthen cooperation with the G7 countries, and promote partnerships in innovation, digital technologies and entrepreneurship. It also underlines India’s efforts to advance its broader strategic partnership with the European Union.
