PM Modi’s focus on skill-based job creation; Rs 3 lakh crore allocated in budget: Union Minister Kumaraswamy

The central government, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has allocated over Rs 3 lakh crore in the recent budget specifically aimed at skill-based job creation. Union Minister for Heavy Industries and Steel, HD Kumaraswamy, announced this initiative on Tuesday.

During the second phase of the Prime Minister’s Rozgar Mela, appointment letters were distributed to 51,000 selected candidates across various central government departments at 40 locations nationwide. The event was conducted online, featuring Prime Minister Modi’s participation, while Minister Kumaraswamy attended the program at the Jnana Jyothi Auditorium in Bengaluru.

After distributing appointment letters to 25 new recruits, Kumaraswamy addressed the audience, highlighting that recruitment had taken place in 12 central government departments. He emphasized, “PM Modi is encouraging skill-based job creation with the goal of achieving a ‘Viksit Bharat’ by 2047. The Rs 3 lakh crore earmarked in the budget will be directly released to MSMEs.”

He further added the substantial impact of the Make in India and Atmanirbhar Bharat initiatives, asserting that they are significantly promoting job creation. The Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme is also making considerable strides in the employment sector, aiming to transform India into the third-largest economic power.

Kumaraswamy commended the postal department for its recruitment efforts, which saw 30,000 youth employed in the first phase of the Rozgar Mela and an additional 20,000 in the second phase.

In a virtual address, Prime Minister Modi distributed the appointment letters to the new recruits, marking a pivotal moment in the government’s commitment to prioritize employment generation.

The Rozgar Mela facilitated new appointments across various ministries and departments, including the Department of Revenue, Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Home Affairs, Ministry of Defence, and Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, reinforcing the government’s dedication to bolstering job opportunities in the country.
