The Ministry of Ayush will commemorate World Homoeopathy Day 2026 on April 10 at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi, with a two-day interactive forum aimed at discussing the role of homoeopathy in building sustainable healthcare systems.
Union Minister of State for Ayush, Prataprao Jadhav, will inaugurate the event. Secretary, Ministry of Ayush, Rajesh Kotecha, along with senior officials and experts, will also be present.
The forum, centred on the theme “Homoeopathy for Sustainable Health,” will bring together policymakers, researchers and practitioners to deliberate on the expanding role of homoeopathy in public health.
Organised by the Central Council for Research in Homoeopathy (CCRH), the programme will showcase research advancements, public health initiatives and policy developments in the field. Discussions will also focus on strengthening scientific validation, maintaining ethical standards and integrating homoeopathy into mainstream healthcare systems.
The event will examine the potential of homoeopathy as a cost-effective and environmentally responsible system of medicine, particularly in the context of rising healthcare costs and the increasing burden of chronic diseases. Sessions will also address issues such as antimicrobial resistance and the need for sustainable treatment approaches.
Special sessions are expected to explore the role of homoeopathy in preventive and promotive healthcare, as well as its application in managing lifestyle and chronic diseases. Deliberations will also cover eco-friendly pharmaceutical practices, biodiversity conservation and the integration of traditional knowledge with modern scientific research.
The Ministry of Ayush has been working to expand the reach of homoeopathy through evidence-based practices, improved accessibility and integration into national health programmes. The event is expected to further strengthen India’s efforts to promote traditional systems of medicine and support the development of a sustainable and inclusive healthcare framework.
World Homoeopathy Day is observed annually to mark the birth anniversary of Samuel Hahnemann, the founder of homoeopathy, and to raise awareness about its role in healthcare.
