President Murmu extends greetings on eve of Durga Puja

President Droupadi Murmu on Monday conveyed her greetings to all citizens on the eve of Durga Puja, extending her best wishes to Indians both within the country and abroad.

In her message, the President said that Durga Puja reflects India’s rich culture, faith, and spiritual heritage. She highlighted that worshipping Maa Durga in her nine forms serves not only as a path to spiritual purification but also inspires people to uphold truth, justice, and compassion. The festival, she added, promotes values of equality, tolerance, and love.

President Murmu also called upon citizens to reaffirm their commitment to respecting women and ensuring their rightful place in society. She prayed for Maa Durga’s blessings of wisdom, courage, happiness, and prosperity for all.

The President’s message comes as millions across the country prepare to celebrate Durga Puja, one of India’s most vibrant and widely observed festivals, with traditional rituals, cultural performances, and community gatherings.
