President Droupadi Murmu will address the nation on Friday, August 14, on the eve of India’s 80th Independence Day, the President’s Secretariat said on Thursday.
The President’s address will be broadcast at 7 pm across the national network of Akashvani and telecast on all channels of Doordarshan.
The address will first be broadcast and telecast in Hindi, followed by the English version. Doordarshan’s regional channels will subsequently broadcast the address in regional languages.
Akashvani will broadcast the regional-language versions of the President’s address at 9:30 pm through its respective regional networks.
The address comes ahead of the Independence Day celebrations at the Red Fort on August 15, where Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lead the national celebrations. This year’s celebrations will commemorate 150 years of the National Song ‘Vande Mataram’ and highlight the role of Yuva Shakti in India’s journey towards Viksit Bharat@2047.
