President Droupadi Murmu on Sunday attended the 36th convocation ceremony of Rani Durgavati University in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, where she urged students to use their education and talent not only for personal success but also for the greater good of society.

Addressing the gathering, the President described education as the most effective means for the development of individuals and communities, stressing the importance of advancing educational opportunities for tribal youth while preserving their unique identity, culture and traditions. She said educational institutions should make special efforts to study and promote tribal knowledge systems and craft traditions for the benefit of society.

Highlighting the role of higher education institutions, President Murmu said universities are not only centres of learning but also hubs of innovation and research. She emphasised the need to foster creative thinking, scientific temper and entrepreneurial spirit among students while instilling pride in Indian culture, traditions and languages. A harmonious blend of modernity and tradition, she said, is essential for the country’s balanced development.
