President Droupadi Murmu attended the valedictory session of the 18th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas Convention in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, where she presented the Pravasi Bharatiya Samman Awards.

In her address, the President praised the Indian Diaspora for representing the best of India, highlighting their global contributions in technology, medicine, arts, and entrepreneurship. She emphasized that their achievements inspire millions worldwide and contribute to India’s pride.

President Murmu congratulated the awardees and commended Trinidad and Tobago’s President Christine Kangaloo for her leadership, particularly in empowering women and supporting the Indian diaspora.

The President underscored the importance of the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas as a platform for collaboration and strengthening ties between India and its diaspora. She emphasized the critical role of the diaspora in achieving India’s vision of Viksit Bharat by 2047, encouraging their participation in the nation’s development.

She concluded by expressing hope that the Indian diaspora would continue to contribute to global well-being, inspired by India’s philosophy of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam, balancing economic progress with social justice and environmental stewardship.
