Prime Minister Modi interacts with beneficiaries of rural electrification

Prime Minister Modi said that the Congress government in 2005 had promised to electrify all the households by 2009, but it failed to do so as it had no serious leader.

The Prime Minister was interacting with citizens from villages that have been electrified in the last four years via the Narendra Modi Mobile App.

PM Modi said that the NDA government not only focussed on electrification but also reformed the distribution systems across the country.

The Prime Minister said that April 28, 2018 is a historical day for India as Leisang village in Manipur became the last village to be electrified.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi began his interaction with people from Leisang village in Manipur, which was the last among the 18,000 villages electrified. He also spoke to beneficiaries from Arunachal Pradesh.

Villagers from Roro in Singhbum also shared experiences of how electrification has transformed their lives. Anita Devi from Palamu in Jharkhand told PM Modi that her village and home got electricity in 2016.
