Prime Minister Modi speaks with Amir of Qatar, expresses concern over attacks in Doha

Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a telephone conversation today with Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani, Amir of the State of Qatar.

Prime Minister Modi conveyed deep concern over the recent attacks in Doha and condemned the violation of Qatar’s sovereignty. He appreciated Qatar’s role in promoting regional peace and stability, including its mediation efforts in Gaza aimed at securing a ceasefire and the release of hostages.

The Prime Minister reiterated India’s support for resolving all issues through dialogue and diplomacy while stressing the need to avoid escalation. He underlined India’s firm stand in support of peace and stability in the region and its resolute opposition to terrorism in all forms and manifestations.

Sheikh Tamim thanked Prime Minister Modi for his expression of solidarity with the people and State of Qatar.

Both leaders expressed satisfaction at the sustained progress in the India-Qatar Strategic Partnership and reaffirmed their commitment to advancing cooperation across areas of mutual interest.

They agreed to remain in close contact.
