The Prize Distribution Function of the 35th National Youth Parliament Competition, 2024-25 for Kendriya Vidyalayas will be held on August 29 at the GMC Balayogi Auditorium in Parliament House Complex.
The event will be presided over by Lok Sabha MP Bansuri Swaraj, who will distribute prizes to the winning institutions for their outstanding performances. On the occasion, students of Kendriya Vidyalaya, ONGC, Srikona (Silchar Region, East Zone), Assam – the National Winner of the competition – will stage a repeat performance of their winning Youth Parliament sitting.
The Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs has been organising Youth Parliament Competitions for Kendriya Vidyalayas for the past 37 years. This year, the 35th edition witnessed the participation of 175 Kendriya Vidyalayas across 25 regions. The programme aims to instill in students democratic values such as self-discipline, tolerance of diverse opinions, and responsible expression of views, while also familiarising them with parliamentary practices, debating techniques, and leadership skills.
At the national level, the prestigious “Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Running Parliamentary Shield” and trophy will be awarded to Kendriya Vidyalaya, ONGC, Srikona (Silchar Region, East Zone), Assam.
In addition, zonal winner trophies will be awarded to:
KV Kathua (Jammu Region) – North Zone
PM Shri KV No.1, AFS, Chakeri, Kanpur (Lucknow Region) – Central Zone
KV Mathura Cantt (Agra Region) – West Zone
PM Shri KV No.1, Sagar (Jabalpur Region) – South Zone
Furthermore, 20 Kendriya Vidyalayas from across the country will be honoured with regional winner trophies for their top performances at the regional level, including schools from Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Chandigarh, Chennai, Dehradun, Delhi, Ernakulam, Gurugram, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Kolkata, Mumbai, Patna, Raipur, Ranchi, Tinsukia, and Varanasi.
The Youth Parliament Programme continues to serve as a vital platform to nurture democratic values and leadership qualities among India’s youth, preparing them to engage meaningfully with the country’s democratic traditions.
