Ratan Tata Honored with KISS Humanitarian Award

Renowned industrialist and philanthropist Ratan Tata, Chairman Emeritus of the Tata Group, was bestowed with the prestigious KISS Humanitarian Award 2021 in a private ceremony held at his residence in Mumbai. This recognition stands as a testament to his unwavering dedication to social development and outstanding corporate leadership.

The award ceremony, graced by Tata Group Chairman N. Chandrasekaran and three-time Grammy Award winner Ricky Kej, among others, saw the presentation of the award by the esteemed Founder of KIIT and KISS, Achyuta Samanta. Given Tata’s preference for privacy due to health concerns, the ceremony was arranged discreetly at his home.

Despite his usual reluctance to accept accolades, Ratan Tata made an exception upon a personal request from Achyuta Samanta, acknowledging the significance of the KISS humanitarian honor. Originally announced in 2021, Tata’s receipt of the award was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Expressing his gratitude towards KISS and its founder, Tata remarked, “I am extremely happy to receive this honor. This is the most significant moment of my life.”

Established in 2008 by Achyuta Samanta, the KISS Humanitarian Award holds the highest esteem of KIIT and KISS, aiming to acknowledge individuals and organizations that epitomize humanitarian work on a global scale. Previous recipients of this esteemed award include distinguished global leaders, Nobel laureates, and prominent figures from various fields, underscoring its broad international recognition and esteem.

During the occasion, approximately 40,000 students of KISS conveyed their heartfelt wishes to Ratan Tata, expressing hopes for his continued health, longevity, and well-being.
