Saudi-led coalition warns civilians to evacuate Sana’a oil facility ahead of a planned operation; Houthis threaten Aramco in response

The Saudi-led Coalition to Restore Legitimacy in Yemen has urged civilians to evacuate the Yemeni Oil Company’s Al-Sabah Central Station in Sana’a ahead of what it described as a planned “qualitative operation”. The Coalition’s Joint Forces Command issued the warning, asking civilians to leave the designated site in accordance with an illustrative map they shared.

Shortly after this statement, the Houthis reportedly warned Saudi Arabia of a tough response if they hit Sana’a. The Houthi military warned employees and citizens located near any Aramco oil facility to evacuate and stay away from them. They said these facilities are legitimate targets, as reported by Houthi-affiliated Saba News Agency (Sana’a branch).

Saudi Arabia intercepted and destroyed three unmanned aerial vehicles north of Riyadh, while two ballistic missiles launched towards Khamis Mushait were also intercepted, informed Coalition spokesman Major General Turki Al-Malki.

India’s airlines suspend Saudi operations till October 17

Air India, Air India Express, Akasa Air and IndiGo have extended flight cancellations to and from several Saudi cities including Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam and Madinah, until October 17, citing the prevailing situation.

The Indian Embassy in Riyadh has advised Indian nationals to remain calm and vigilant, follow instructions from local authorities, stay indoors during aerial attacks and refrain from circulating videos or unverified news about the ongoing events. The Embassy, the Indian Consulate in Jeddah and their VFS passport and attestation services continue to operate normally. While operations at Riyadh airport remain suspended, flights at Dammam, Jeddah and Madinah airports are continuing but passengers may face disruptions at these airports.
