Seto Machindranath Rath Jatra concludes in Kathmandu

The three-day-long Seto Machindranath Rath Jatra concluded today in Kathmandu, marking the end of the festival that began on April 16, 2024. Seto Machindranath, also known as the White Machindranath, is revered as the deity who brings rain and ensures good harvests. 
 
The festival holds great significance among the Newar community in the Kathmandu Valley. 
 
During the Rath Jatra, the statue of Seto Machindranath is placed on a chariot and pulled through key areas of the city, including Ason, Hanumandhoka, Jaisideval, and Lagan, culminating at Jamal Tindhara.
