The Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports (MYAS) organised the ‘Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat’ Youth Summits on Sunday across more than 2,000 locations nationwide, as part of the ongoing Seva Pakhwada (September 17 – October 2). The initiative, which coincides with the 75th birthday celebrations of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and will culminate on Gandhi Jayanti, saw lakhs of young participants taking the ‘Nasha Mukt’ (drug-free) and ‘Swadeshi Bharat’ pledges.
The campaign builds on the Youth Spiritual Summit held in Varanasi earlier this year and marks a historic collaboration between the nation’s spiritual organisations and youth networks. Over 60 leading spiritual organisations independently conducted programmes, with MYAS and MY Bharat acting as facilitators.
Prominent organisations such as Isha Foundation, ISKCON, Heartfulness, Chinmaya Mission, Brahma Kumaris, Mata Amritanandamayi Matha, Patanjali, Akhil Bhartiya Terapanth Yuvak Parishad, Chishty Foundation, Namdhari Sikh Sangat, Sufi Islamic Board, and Anuvrat were among those leading the initiative.
The programmes included yoga and meditation sessions, satsangs, cultural performances, and interactive discussions with doctors, counsellors, veterans, and addiction survivors, all centred on promoting drug-free living, discipline, and nation-building values.
Messages from spiritual leaders such as Sadhguru and Daaji inspired youth across the country, while social media outreach under the hashtags #NashaMuktYuva and #MYBharat amplified participation. Influencers and digital creators also contributed to spreading the campaign online.
