Mumbai Police said on Thursday that they received a death threat targeting Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan. The caller demanded Rs 50 lakh in exchange for sparing the actor’s life.
The threat call, made to Bandra Police Station, has been traced to Raipur, Chhattisgarh. A Mumbai Police team has been dispatched to investigate further. An FIR related to extortion and criminal intimidation has been registered under Sections 308(4) and 351(3)(4) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
This marks the second high-profile threat in a week. On Monday, Mumbai Police received a message threatening actor Salman Khan, allegedly from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, demanding either an apology or Rs 5 crore for his safety. In an earlier incident, a ransom of Rs 2 crore was also demanded.
Both cases are currently under investigation.
