The construction work of the grand Ram temple at Shri Ram Janmabhoomi in Ayodhya is going on at a rapid pace, and the concerned companies have been directed to complete all the works related to it by October 2023. Taking that into consideration, the works at Maryada Purushottam Shri Ram International Airport have been expedited. The airport aims to give visitors a feel for Shri Ram Temple from inside to outside, as well as his personality and creativity, reported Hindusthan Samachar.
According to the Airport Authority of India, air travel from Delhi and Mumbai will start before the end of the year 2023. The work on phase one of the airport is nearing completion. Along with the construction works, the Airport Authority of India is engaged in fulfilling the standard of licencing for flights. If sources are to be believed, the flight may start in October. The first flight is likely to take off from the ATR-72 onboard. Shri Ramlala's Pran Pratishtha is scheduled to happen in January 2024.
Airport's acting director, V.S. Kushwaha, told reporters that domestic flights will start by the month of November. The runway and power transmission work at the airport are being completed at a fast pace. He informed, till now, about 90 percent of the critical runway for the flight has been completed. The air traffic control tower is ready. About 76 percent of the work on the terminal building for passengers has been completed.
In view of security, the construction of the boundary wall is in its final stage. Barbed wire is being installed on it for strict security. An isolation way, two taxiways, and a parking apron for the parking of three airbuses have also been made.
Airport Authority Director Rajeev Kulshrestha said that the airport's civil, electrical, and IT works would be completed between July and August. This is followed by the process of getting a licence to fly. After the completion of the works by August, the licence will be received within a month with the cooperation of the district administration. After this, the flight will start after getting permission from the Prime Minister's Office.
District Magistrate Nitish Kumar inspected the airport on Thursday. The District Magistrate said that 97 percent of the land acquisition work has been completed for all three phases of the airport. The work of acquiring the remaining land will also be done by July 15.
The District Magistrate said that the plane would land even in the fog. He said that with the operation of Phase I, the facility of landing planes will be available here, along with the facility of night landing.
