Singapore PM Wong meets President Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan

Singapore Prime Minister Lawrence Wong, on a three-day official visit to India, met President Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan on Thursday, marking the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
 
Earlier in the day, PM Wong held discussions with National Security Adviser Ajit Doval and later met Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Hyderabad House for wide-ranging talks. During the meeting, the two leaders jointly inaugurated the JN Port PSA Mumbai Terminal (BMCT) Phase-II and witnessed the signing of several Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) between India and Singapore.
 
PM Wong also interacted with key Indian leaders, including External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, Union Health Minister and BJP national president JP Nadda, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, and Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
 
Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan highlighted that discussions focused on expanding bilateral engagement in school and higher education, vocational training, research, innovation, and entrepreneurship. Both countries agreed to collaborate on teacher capacity building, boosting research capabilities, strengthening the skilling ecosystem, and facilitating student exchanges across higher education institutions to provide global perspectives.
 
In a post on X, PM Wong shared a video noting the launch of the Roadmap for the Singapore-India Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, emphasizing cooperation in advanced manufacturing, semiconductors, sustainability, digitalisation, AI, and space.
 
PM Wong is accompanied by his spouse and a high-level delegation of Cabinet Ministers and senior officials. This marks his first visit to India as Singapore’s Prime Minister.
