Sensex, Nifty open higher; Maruti Suzuki shares surge

Indian benchmark indices gained in early trade on Tuesday, led by shares of Maruti Suzuki, which surged by more than 4 percent.

The NSE Nifty 50 gained 0.14 percent to 24,354, while the BSE Sensex added 0.21 percent to 80,126 as of 10:30 AM.

In the broader market, all indices, including Nifty 100, Nifty 200, Nifty Midcap, and Nifty Small Cap, opened on a positive note.

The sectoral indices also indicated a positive trend, with all sector indices opening in the green.

The top gainers of the day in the Nifty 50 list were Maruti Suzuki, Cipla, Mahindra and Mahindra, Titan, and Britannia. Shriram Finance, BPCL, Reliance, Axis Bank, and Grasim were the major losers.
