On the occasion of Raksha Bandhan, a festival that symbolizes the enduring bond between brothers and sisters, school students had a special interaction with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday. During the event, the students tied Rakhis to the Prime Minister, with a notable focus on a unique theme—’Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ (One Tree in the Name of Mother).
The students not only tied these environmentally-themed Rakhis to PM Modi but also engaged in discussions about their potential contributions to his vision of a developed India, or ‘Vikshit Bharat.’ One student inquired about how they could contribute to this vision, to which PM Modi responded by encouraging them to maintain good health, prioritize hygiene, focus on their studies, and practice generosity.
The event was filled with warmth and joy, as the students sang Rakhi songs and embraced the Prime Minister. PM Modi reciprocated by congratulating the students and extending his best wishes to the public on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan. He also took a moment to commend a student for her creativity in designing the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ Rakhi.
Earlier in the day, Prime Minister Modi conveyed his greetings to the nation, expressing his wishes for happiness and prosperity for all. “Best wishes to all countrymen on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan, a festival symbolizing the immense love between brothers and sisters. May this holy festival bring new sweetness in your relationships and bring happiness, prosperity, and good fortune into your lives,” PM Modi shared on X.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Union Health Minister JP Nadda also extended their greetings on this auspicious occasion, each emphasizing the festival’s significance as a celebration of the unbreakable bond between siblings.
