Former WB Chief Minister and CPI (M) leader Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee passes away at 80

Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee, the former Chief Minister of West Bengal and a prominent leader of the Communist Party of India (Marxist), passed away on Thursday morning at the age of 80 in Kolkata. Bhattacharjee had been battling ailments associated with old age. He served as the Chief Minister of West Bengal from 2000 to 2011, succeeding Jyoti Basu.
