Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee, the former Chief Minister of West Bengal and a prominent leader of the Communist Party of India (Marxist), passed away on Thursday morning at the age of 80 in Kolkata. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi was sworn in as a Member of Parliament from Raebareli on Tuesday, holding a copy of the Indian Constitution during the ceremony.
