Cabinet clears higher copra MSP for 2026 to boost farmer returns
The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on Friday approved an increase in the Minimum Support Price (MSP) for copra for the 2026 season. According to the government, the MSP for Fair Average Quality milling copra has been fixed at ₹12,027 per quintal, while ball copra will be procured at ₹12,500 per quintal, in line with the government’s 2018-19 policy to set MSPs at least 1.5 times the all-India weighted average cost of production.
