Centre approves 3% dearness allowance hike, effective July 1, 2026
The Union Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on Wednesday approved an additional 3 per cent instalment of Dearness Allowance (DA) for Central Government employees and Dearness Relief (DR) for pensioners, effective from July 1, 2026. With this increase, DA and DR will rise from the existing rate of 60 per cent to 63 per cent of Basic Pay and Pension, respectively.
