A gunman opened fire on Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leader and former Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal outside the Golden Temple in Amritsar on Wednesday morning. Badal, who escaped unhurt, was performing guard duty as part of a religious punishment at the time of the attack. Pro-Khalistan slogans raised at Golden Temple on Operation Blue Star anniversary

Pro-Khalistan slogans were raised by several people from the Sikh community at the Golden Temple in Amritsar on the 40th anniversary of Operation Blue Star on Thursday.
