New wildfire near Los Angeles explodes to 9,400 acres, forces evacuations

A new wildfire that broke out north of Los Angeles on Wednesday rapidly spread to more than 9,400 acres (38 square km), fueled by strong winds and dry brush, forcing mandatory evacuation orders for more than 31,000 people. YouTube and Google donate USD 15 million for Los Angeles wildfire relief

YouTube announced on Thursday that, in collaboration with its parent company Google, it is donating USD 15 million to support relief efforts and assist its creator community in the affected areas. The funds will be directed through Google.org to several organizations, including Emergency Network Los Angeles, the American Red Cross, the Center for Disaster Philanthropy, and the Institute for Nonprofit News.
