Maharashtra: IMD predicts heavy to very heavy rainfall for Mumbai, issuing orange alert

The Indian Meterological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert for Mumbai indicating heavy to very heavy rainfall, for Mumbai on Friday and Saturday. There is a monsoon trough and a cyclonic circulation has also developed over Mumbai which has resulted in strong westerly winds, the Met Department said. India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert for heatwave conditions in Northwest, North and Eastern parts of the country. The IMD said that heatwave to severe heatwave conditions will prevail over parts of Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh and Odisha for the next three to four days.
