India-Mongolia joint military exercise Nomadic Elephant 2026 commences in Uttarakhand’s Pithoragarh

The 18th edition of the India-Mongolia Joint Military Exercise Nomadic Elephant 2026 commenced on Monday at the Foreign Training Node in Pithoragarh, Uttarakhand. The annual platoon-level exercise, conducted alternately between India and Mongolia, will continue till October 3. Kailash Manasarovar Yatra concludes; final batch of pilgrims returns to India via Lipulekh Pass

The Kailash Mansarovar Yatra concluded this year with the return of the final batches of pilgrims through the Nathu La route in Sikkim and the Lipulekh route in Uttarakhand, officials said. A total of 941 pilgrims completed the pilgrimage through the two routes this year, with 464 pilgrims travelling through Sikkim's Nathu La route and 477 through Uttarakhand's Lipulekh route.
