Indian Railways freight loading rises 6.14% in September, revenue grows 9.3%
Indian Railways loaded 135.35 million tonnes of freight in September 2026, up 6.14% from 127.52 million tonnes in the corresponding month last year, with foodgrains, clinker and domestic containers recording strong growth. Foodgrain loading increased 25%, clinker 20% and domestic container traffic 10%. Coal loading rose 9%, while the “Balance Other Goods” category grew 8.2%.
