Cabinet approves Rs. 2,730 crore ropeway project to Hemkund Sahib

The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) on Wednesday approved the construction of a 12.4 km ropeway connecting Govindghat to Hemkund Sahib, a revered pilgrimage site at an altitude of 15,000 feet in Uttarakhand's Chamoli district. The project, to be developed under the Design, Build, Finance, Operate, and Transfer (DBFOT) model, is estimated to cost Rs. 2,730.13 crore.
