Dengue cases rise across Tamil Nadu amid monsoon; Chennai worst-affected

Dengue cases are on the rise across Tamil Nadu with the onset of the monsoon, prompting the state government to intensify mosquito-control and disease-surveillance measures. According to the state health department, 244 people out of 1,320 tested across Tamil Nadu have been confirmed to have dengue. Nearly 200 cases are reportedly being detected daily. Cabinet approves five railway multitracking projects worth Rs 10,021 crore across four states

The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has approved five multitracking projects of the Ministry of Railways with a total estimated cost of around Rs 10,021 crore.
