Telangana assembly polls: 51.89% voter turnout by 3 pm

Key turnout figures in various constituencies include Medak at 69.33%, Mahabubabad at 65.05%, Adilabad at 62.34%, Hanumankonda at 49%, and Hyderabad at 31.17% by 3 pm.

Jangaon recorded a 62.24% voter turnout, while Kamareddy recorded 59.06%. Voter turnout in Khammam was recorded at 63.62%, Nalgonda at 59.98%, Nizamabad at 56.70%, Sangareddy at 56.23%, and Rangareddy at 42.43%.

Long queues formed outside polling stations across towns and rural areas in Telangana since early morning when the polling began at 7 am.

As of 1 pm, the overall voter turnout in the state reached 36.68%. A total of 2,290 contestants, including Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao, his Minister-son K.T. Rama Rao, State Congress President A Revanth Reddy, and BJP Lok Sabha members Bandi Sanjay Kumar and D Arvind, are in the electoral fray.

In the 2018 elections, BRS (then Telangana Rashtra Samithi) secured 88 of the 119 seats with a 47.4% vote share, while the Congress trailed with just 19 seats.

Prominent leaders, such as Chief Minister KCR, State Minister KT Rama Rao, YSR Telangana Party president YS Sharmila, BJP's Arvind Dharmapuri, and Union Minister G Kishan Reddy, exercised their franchise and encouraged voters to participate in the democratic process.
