The tastes of summer: FPOs cultivating goodness on Indian plates

By: Aditya Ahuja

In the heartlands of India, where the sun beats down relentlessly, and the soil holds the promise of sustenance, there exists a silent revolution. It is a movement propelled by the hands that till the land, the minds that nurture crops, and the souls that believe in the power of agriculture. This movement finds its essence in the Small Farmers’ Agri-Business Consortium (SFAC), an organisation dedicated to empowering the backbone of our nation – small farmers.

Established in 1994 under the aegis of the Department of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, Government of India, SFAC has been the guiding light for millions of small and marginal farmers across the country. Its mission is clear: to foster agri-business by supporting small farmers and promoting farmer-oriented agri-business ventures.

At the heart of SFAC’s endeavours lies a commitment to connect farmers with markets, technologies, and resources that enable them to thrive.

Amidst the scorching heat of summer, Indian farmers cultivate an abundance of goodness in the fertile fields of rural India, bringing forth a plethora of delights to our tables.
