UEFA Champions League: Barcelona beat Galatasaray 4-1, Arsenal cruise past Lille 3-0

Barcelona came from behind to defeat Galatasaray 4-1, while Arsenal scored three goals in seven second-half minutes to secure a 3-0 victory over Lille in the UEFA Champions League league phase on Tuesday.

Galatasaray took the lead in the 28th minute through Aleksey Batrakov, but Joao Cancelo brought Barcelona level in the 43rd minute.

Barcelona completed the turnaround shortly after the break when Fermín Lopez headed home a cross from Lamine Yamal in the 50th minute.

Yamal provided another assist three minutes later, setting up Anthony Gordon to extend Barcelona’s advantage to 3-1. Substitute Karim Adeyemi added a fourth goal in the 65th minute to seal a convincing victory.

Meanwhile, Arsenal maintained their perfect start to the competition with a commanding 3-0 win over French side LOSC Lille.

After a goalless first half, Jurrien Timber broke the deadlock in the 64th minute, putting Arsenal ahead.

The Gunners then introduced Bukayo Saka, Martin Odegaard and Kai Havertz in a triple substitution as they looked to strengthen their advantage.

Saka made an immediate impact, setting up Eberechi Eze for Arsenal’s second goal in the 67th minute before finding the net himself four minutes later following a combination with Havertz.

Arsenal controlled much of the contest, enjoying 53 per cent possession and registering 16 shots, including eight on target. Lille managed just four attempts, none of which were on target.

The French side struggled to create clear-cut opportunities against Arsenal’s organised defence as the Premier League club secured a comfortable victory.

In other matchday two fixtures, Villarreal defeated Napoli 3-1, RB Leipzig edged PSV Eindhoven 1-0, Club Brugge beat Inter Milan 4-3, Sporting CP secured a 2-0 victory over Lens, and Sabah defeated Slavia Praha 2-0.
