Union Minister JP Nadda discusses 100-day action plan for MoHFW

After assuming office as the Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare, JP Nadda, who is also the sitting President of the Bharatiya Janata Party, attended a meeting with top ministry officials on Friday to discuss a 100-day plan for the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW).

The 100-day plan includes the launch of the National Health Claims Exchange (NHCX), a special campaign against tobacco use, particularly among the youth and adolescents, a national campaign against non-communicable diseases (NCDs), and the deployment of Arogya Maitri Disaster Management Cube-BHISHM, revolutionary mobile hospitals equipped with cutting-edge technology. Additionally, the plan features the U-WIN portal for facilitating the registration of immunizations for children.

Earlier, on Tuesday, Jagat Prakash Nadda assumed charge as the Minister of Health and Family Welfare in the national capital. Nadda was accompanied by Anupriya Patel and Jadhav Prataprao Ganpatrao, Ministers of State in the Union Health and Family Welfare Ministry.

After taking charge, Nadda took to X and wrote, “Honoured to take charge as Minister of Health and Family Welfare under the esteemed guidance of Hon. PM Shri @narendramodi ji. The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare plays a crucial role in the nation’s progress and the well-being of its people. As the backbone of the country, the health sector not only promotes public health but also stands as a strong force in addressing and overcoming health challenges.”

India’s healthcare system is currently recognized globally for its excellence, boasting affordable and advanced infrastructure. This transformation has positioned India as a prominent destination for medical tourism worldwide.

Nadda previously served as the Union Health Minister in the BJP government from 2014-2019. The party contested the 2024 Lok Sabha elections and several assembly polls under his leadership. He is currently a Rajya Sabha MP from Gujarat.
