Union Minister for Fisheries, Animal Husbandry & Dairying (FAHD) and Panchayati Raj, Rajiv Ranjan Singh alias Lalan Singh, will inaugurate the much-anticipated Entrepreneurship Development Conclave in Pune, Maharashtra, on Monday.
The event, organised by the Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying under the Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry & Dairying, is themed “Empowering Entrepreneurs: Transforming Livestock Economies.”
The conclave will bring together key policymakers, industry leaders, and stakeholders from the livestock sector to foster innovation and drive growth. Minister of State for FAHD and Panchayati Raj, Prof. S.P. Singh Baghel, and Minister of State for FAHD and Minority Affairs, George Kurian, will also attend, along with Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar and Maharashtra’s Minister for Animal Husbandry & Dairying, Pankaja Pradnya Munde. Senior officials from across the country, including animal husbandry secretaries and principal secretaries, will also be present.
The Entrepreneurship Development Conclave aims to provide a platform for discussions on opportunities and challenges in the livestock sector. The event will showcase government initiatives like the Animal Husbandry Infrastructure Development Fund (AHIDF) with an outlay of Rs. 29,110.25 crores and the National Livestock Mission (NLM) with an outlay of Rs. 2,300 crores.
These schemes aim to drive inclusive growth and empower rural farmers and small enterprises, boosting entrepreneurship in the livestock sector.
Key highlights of the conclave include the inauguration of the National Livestock Mission – Entrepreneurship Development Programme (NLM-EDP) Dashboard, which will offer an organized summary of key project information, and the launch of 40 projects supported under AHIDF and NLM-EDP, worth Rs. 545.04 crores. The National Livestock Mission Operational Guidelines 2.0 and Success Story Booklets will also be released.
The conclave will feature panel discussions on topics such as “Catalyzing Growth in the Livestock Sector: Entrepreneurship, Processing, and Opportunities” and “Role of Banks and MSMEs in Livestock Sector & Credit Facilitation.”
Experts from government, financial institutions, cooperatives, and industry associations will participate in these discussions, exploring strategies to unlock the sector’s full potential.
This conclave is set to play a pivotal role in transforming India’s livestock economies, driving sustainable development and entrepreneurship in the sector.
