The UP Board exams kicked off on Monday under tight security and supervision across the state. A total of 54,37,233 students are appearing for the exams, which are being conducted at 8,140 centres across Uttar Pradesh.
Of these students, 27,32,216 are high school candidates, while 27,05,017 are taking the intermediate exams.
Enhanced security measures have been implemented, with 17 districts placed under special surveillance. The Special Task Force (STF) and Intelligence Unit have been deployed to monitor the examination process.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, along with Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya, extended their best wishes to the students. CM Yogi shared a message on X, saying, “Hearty congratulations to all the students appearing in the UP Board 10th and 12th class exams!
Participate in this examination with confidence, patience, and your full potential. Treat the exam as part of your daily routine. May Maa Saraswati’s blessings be with you all, and may you succeed. Best wishes!”
Out of the 8,140 centres, 576 are government-run, 3,446 are aided institutions, and 4,118 are self-financed. To ensure transparency, each exam room is equipped with two CCTV cameras, voice recorders, routers, DVRs, and high-speed internet for live webcasting.
Strict security measures have also been incorporated into the question papers and answer sheets, which include centre-specific coding to prevent cheating.
In a notable change, the exams scheduled for February 24 in Prayagraj have been postponed due to the large crowd expected for the Mahashivaratri bath during the Maha Kumbh.
To maintain the integrity of the exams, a robust task force of 8,140 centre administrators, 8,140 external administrators, 8,140 static magistrates, 1,283 sector magistrates, and 439 zonal magistrates has been deployed. Additionally, 428 mobile teams and 75 state-level supervisors will oversee the examination process.
The Uttar Pradesh Public Examination (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act, 2024 has also been implemented, ensuring strict penalties for any attempts to disrupt the exams.
Backup question papers have been secured in strong rooms as a precaution, and stringent measures are in place to prevent the exchange of answer sheets during the exams.
