Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath held a cabinet meeting at the Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj on Wednesday, during which several significant proposals and schemes for the state were approved.
CM Yogi announced the establishment of three new medical colleges in Hathras, Kasganj, and Baghpat. Additionally, 62 Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) and five centers for innovation, invention, and training will be set up across the state.
The cabinet also decided to renew the Uttar Pradesh Aerospace and Defence Employment Policy, which has completed five years. The UP CM said that new incentives will be introduced to attract more investment into the state.
“Bonds will be issued for the municipal corporations of Prayagraj, Varanasi, and Agra. Previously, bonds for Lucknow and Ghaziabad have yielded excellent results. This is a vital medium for branding municipal corporations and advancing development with a new vision,” CM Yogi said.
The chief ninister also announced the creation of a Prayagraj-Chitrakoot Development Region, modeled after the State Capital Region of Lucknow. “Inspired by the vision of the Honorable Prime Minister, we aim to link Prayagraj and the surrounding regions with sustainable development programs,” he said.
Other development plans include establishing a similar region in Varanasi in collaboration with NITI Aayog. CM Yogi emphasized that the Ganga Expressway would connect Prayagraj, Mirzapur, Bhadohi, Kashi, Chandauli, and Purvanchal Expressway in Ghazipur, with an extension to Sonbhadra via the National Highway.
CM Yogi takes holy dip at Triveni Sangam
After the meeting, CM Yogi, accompanied by his entire cabinet, took a holy dip at the Triveni Sangam—a revered ritual believed to cleanse one of all sins.
Deputy Chief Ministers Keshav Prasad Maurya and Brajesh Pathak, along with all 54 cabinet and state ministers, were present during the ceremony.
As the Yogi Cabinet boarded a motorboat to reach the ghat, TV cameras captured the “historic” moment.
CM Yogi was also seen feeding migratory birds on the way to the Ganga ghat.
