Vinesh Phogat appeals against Olympic disqualification, asks for silver

Indian wrestler Vinesh Phogat has filed an appeal with the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) against her recent disqualification from the final at the Paris 2024 Olympics. In her appeal, Phogat has requested that she be awarded the silver medal.

CAS has responded that it will issue its final verdict by tomorrow.

The move comes after Phogat was not allowed to compete in the finals of the women’s 50kg category after missing her weight by just 100 grams.
