Following the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM)-led alliance’s lead in the ongoing assembly elections, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday thanked the people of Jharkhand for their support, emphasizing that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will continue to champion the concerns of the people and work for the state’s development.
In a post on X, PM Modi extended his congratulations to the JMM-led alliance for their performance in the elections.
“I thank the people of Jharkhand for their support towards us. We will always be at the forefront of raising people’s issues and working for the state. I also congratulate the JMM-led alliance for their performance in the state,”he wrote, tagging Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren.
As of 5:45 pm, the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) has won 19 seats and is leading in 15, while Congress has secured 8 seats and is leading in 8 more. The Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) has won 1 seat and is leading in 3, and the Communist Party of India (Marxist-Leninist) (Liberation) (CPI(ML)(L)) has won 2 seats. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has won 8 seats and is leading in 13, with its alliance partners AJSU and JD(U) leading in 1 seat each. Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) (RV) has won 1 seat.
Earlier, PM Modi also expressed his gratitude to the people of Maharashtra for their historic mandate in the assembly elections, where the BJP-led MahaYuti alliance is set to retain power with a record majority. The alliance has won or is leading in 230 out of 288 seats in Maharashtra, while the opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi has secured or is leading in 50 seats.
PM Modi assured the people of Maharashtra that the Alliance would continue to work for the state’s progress.
“Development wins! Good governance wins! United we will soar even higher! Heartfelt gratitude to my sisters and brothers of Maharashtra, especially the youth and women of the state, for a historic mandate to the NDA. I assure the people that our Alliance will keep working for Maharashtra’s progress. Jai Maharashtra!” he wrote in a post.
The Prime Minister also thanked the people across various states for their support in the recent by-polls held for 48 assembly seats and two Lok Sabha seats across 15 states. Notable contests included Uttar Pradesh and Wayanad in Kerala, where Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra made her electoral debut.
In Uttar Pradesh, the BJP secured 4 seats, is leading in 2, and its alliance partner RLD is leading in 1. The Samajwadi Party won 2 seats. In Bihar, the NDA swept 4 seats, while Congress secured its lone by-poll seat in Dausa, Rajasthan.
