The Ayush Ministry marked World Homoeopathy Day 2026 with a national celebration in New Delhi, highlighting the theme “Homoeopathy for Sustainable Health” and reaffirming the government’s focus on strengthening the sector through research, regulation and digital integration.
The event, held at Vigyan Bhawan, commemorated the birth anniversary of Samuel Hahnemann and brought together policymakers, researchers, practitioners and students from across the country.
Focus on Evidence-Based Expansion
Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Ayush Prataprao Jadhav said India’s homoeopathy sector has grown significantly, supported by strong institutions and expanding research capabilities.
He emphasised that evidence-based advancement, sustained research and interdisciplinary collaboration are essential to strengthen homoeopathy’s global credibility. “India has developed a robust homoeopathy workforce and institutional ecosystem, contributing to affordable and accessible healthcare,” he said.
Strengthening Ayush Ecosystem
Ayush Secretary Rajesh Kotecha highlighted the government’s efforts to modernise the sector through infrastructure development, digital platforms and improved training systems.
He pointed to initiatives such as the Ayush Grid and health management information systems aimed at enabling evidence-based healthcare delivery, while noting that India has emerged as a global leader in homoeopathy.
The Ministry also underlined ongoing efforts to enhance transparency and standards through regulatory mechanisms like the National Register for practitioners and strengthened educational frameworks.
Growing Reach and Institutional Support
According to experts at the event, homoeopathy has become a significant component of India’s healthcare system, with over 3.45 lakh registered practitioners and nearly 300 educational institutions nationwide.
Speakers stressed the importance of maintaining high standards in clinical training, research, and pharmaceutical quality to ensure safe and effective patient care.
New Initiatives and Publications Launched
Several knowledge resources and digital initiatives were unveiled during the event, including new publications by research bodies, a revamped newsletter, and an updated journal focused on homoeopathy research.
Digital initiatives included certification courses, AI-enabled knowledge tools, and platforms aimed at improving accessibility and dissemination of homoeopathic information.
Toward Sustainable Healthcare
The event concluded with a renewed commitment to promoting homoeopathy as a patient-centric, cost-effective and sustainable healthcare system. The Ministry reiterated that continued investment in research, education and digital innovation will play a key role in expanding its reach and ensuring quality healthcare delivery across the country.
