World Radio Day Conclave 2026 to be held in Raipur on February 13

All India Radio, Raipur, will organise a conclave on Friday (February 13) to mark World Radio Day.

The World Radio Day Conclave 2026, themed “Radio and Artificial Intelligence,” is being held in collaboration with UNESCO.

According to Akashvani, the event will be held at Hotel Babylon Capital in Raipur from 10:00 am onwards, with registration beginning at 9:30 am.

The Director General of Akashvani has invited participants to the conclave, which will be attended by several dignitaries. Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai will attend the event as the Chief Guest.

Participants have been advised to carry their invitation cards for security purposes and keep mobile phones on silent mode during the sessions.

World Radio Day is observed annually on February 13 to recognise the importance of radio as a medium of communication and its role in informing, entertaining and fostering dialogue.

The date marks the anniversary of the establishment of United Nations Radio in 1946. UNESCO’s General Conference proclaimed February 13 as World Radio Day in 2011, and it was later adopted as an international day by the United Nations General Assembly in 2012.

The day aims to raise public awareness of the value of radio, encourage access to information, and promote international cooperation among broadcasters, highlighting the enduring relevance of radio in every society.
