Alexandre Pantoja defends flyweight title at UFC 301

Alexandre Pantoja kept his flyweight belt on Saturday night, beating Steve Erceg by unanimous decision in the main-event bout at UFC 301 in Rio de Janeiro.
 
With the cards reading 48-47, 48-47, 49-46, Pantoja (28-5-0) successfully defended his title for the second straight fight. He had previously prevented Brandon Royval from swiping it at UFC 296 on Dec. 16, 2023. Pantoja also won that clash by unanimous decision.
 
Pantoja has won five fights in a row, while Erceg (12-2-0) saw an 11-fight winning streak come to an end.
 
Joe Aldo (32-8-0) also prevailed via unanimous decision, downing Jonathan Martinez (19-5-0) in a bantamweight scuffle.
 
In other action Saturday, Anthony Smith (38-19-0) won his light heavyweight bout and Michel Pereira (31-11-0) and Caio Borralho (16-1-0) were successful in middleweight action.
