Anurag Thakur launches Government of India calendar for 2024

Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Singh Thakur unveiled the Government of India Calendar for the year 2024 in a significant event held in New Delhi today. The calendar highlights the achievements of the Narendra Modi government, providing a thematic overview of its accomplishments in key sectors.

Addressing the audience during the launch, Thakur provided an insightful overview of the government's development initiatives, spanning infrastructure, health, women empowerment, economy, sports, education, and technology. He emphasized India's remarkable progress, citing the transformation of the country from being one of the 'fragile five' economies to now ranking as the fifth largest economy globally in the past decade.

A significant highlight of Minister Thakur's speech was India's ascent in the startup ecosystem. He proudly announced that India, once absent on the global startup map, has now secured the position of the third-largest startup ecosystem worldwide.

The Minister also shed light on the substantial growth in the aviation sector, noting that the number of airports has surged from 74 to 150 under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Additionally, he highlighted the widespread expansion of metro services to 22 cities and the increase in the number of AIIMS (All India Institutes of Medical Sciences) from 7 to 23 over the past decade.

Underscoring the government's commitment to women-led development, Thakur mentioned the implementation of a 33 percent reservation for women in the Lok Sabha and State Assemblies.

The event witnessed the presence of Information and Broadcasting Secretary Apurva Chandra and other senior officials from the ministry, signifying the significance of the calendar launch.
