Ayush tableau highlights tech-enabled traditional healthcare at Republic Day Parade

The Ministry of Ayush showcased a vibrant tableau at the 77th Republic Day Parade on Kartavya Path on Monday, presenting India’s traditional medical systems integrated with modern technology and last-mile wellness delivery.

Built around the theme “Ayush ka Tantra, Swasthya ka Mantra,” the tableau highlighted the vision of the National Ayush Mission (NAM) and its role in advancing people-centric, holistic healthcare in line with the broader national priorities of Aatmanirbhar Bharat.

The front portion of the tableau depicted the roots of India’s civilisational approach to health, symbolising Ayurveda, Yoga, Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha, Sowa-Rigpa and Homoeopathy as nature-aligned systems promoting preventive and community-based healthcare. Sculptural elements and medicinal plant motifs emphasized sustainability and harmony with the environment.

The middle section showcased the integration of Ayush within the national healthcare framework through NAM, focusing on institutional capacity building, research, grassroots service delivery and the expansion of Ayushman Arogya Mandir (Ayush) facilities. The display underlined efforts to standardize and make Ayush services accessible across the country.

A key highlight was the portrayal of India’s emergence as a technology-enabled wellness leader. Visuals presented digital platforms supporting maternal and child health, elderly care and early Ayush education at the school level, representing a life-cycle-based approach to well-being.

The tableau also depicted Arishadvarga — the six inner challenges — to illustrate the role of Ayush practices in mental and emotional balance amid lifestyle-related health issues. Yoga, meditation and commonly used Ayush medicines were shown as tools encouraging preventive healthcare and community participation.

Therapeutic diversity was showcased through 3D representations of Marma, Shirodhara, Cupping and other traditional interventions, along with references to pioneers who helped globalize India’s traditional medicine knowledge.

Digital outreach was spotlighted through interactive mascot elements representing applications such as Y-Break Pro, WHO mYoga, Namaste Yoga and Prakriti Parikshan, promoting public participation and preventive wellness.

The tableau concluded with a depiction of an Ayurveda college, symbolizing institutional continuity, academic excellence and Ayush’s growing role in the national public health ecosystem.
