In Bangladesh, a crown of goddess Kali at the Jeshoreshwari Temple in Satkhira has been stolen on Thursday afternoon. The crown was gifted by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Jeshoreshwari Kali Temple, Satkhira in March, 2021 during his visit to Bangladesh, said the High Commission of India in Bangladesh through its social media platform ‘X’.
The High Commission has expressed deep concern and urged government of Bangladesh to investigate theft, recover the crown and take action against the perpetrators.
According to the media reports, the local police has confirmed the incident and they are reviewing the temple’s CCTV footage to identify the thief.
The Jeshoreshwari Kali temple is one of the 51 Shakti Peeths in Hinduism.
