Spanning 36,000 square feet, this parts warehouse aims to assist regional aviation customers in optimising fleet utilisation.
Boeing, in a statement released on Monday, affirmed that this new facility is part of its ongoing efforts to expand its footprint in the country, providing an efficient, cost-effective, and localised solution.
“The Boeing India Distribution Center illustrates Boeing's commitment to supporting the growth of this market, aligned with the government's Aatmanirbhar Bharat vision.This center will support the emergent needs of spare parts for Boeing aircraft in India, reducing lead times, improving availability, and supporting the MRO industry here,” said Salil Gupte, President of Boeing India.
This is one of Being's eight distribution centers in the world. William Ampofo, Vice President of Parts and Distribution Services and Supply Chain at Boeing Global Services, emphasized that the India Distribution Center is a significant stride in Boeing's strategy to offer parts and services precisely when and where customers require them.”It also reflects our commitment to providing efficient, cost-effective solutions for Boeing's commercial airplane customers in the region.”, he added.
Boeing had declared its investment in the distribution center less than a year ago during Aero India 2023, and the initial parts were dispatched to customers in December 2023.
Strategically positioned along India's Eastern Freight Corridor, close to both Delhi and the upcoming Jewar airport, the warehouse prioritises innovation, safety, and sustainability. Operated in collaboration with the third-party logistics provider DB Schenker, the facility is part of Boeing's broader initiatives, including partnerships with GMR Aero Technic to establish a Boeing Converted Freighter line in Hyderabad and the establishment of a Global Support Center in Gurgaon.
Furthermore, Boeing has pledged a USD 100 million investment in infrastructure and pilot training programs to meet India's growing demand for pilots over the next two decades.
