BSE Sensex Slips 390 Points, Nifty50 Near 22,200

Today, the Indian equity benchmark indices, BSE Sensex and Nifty50, opened in the red, indicating a cautious start to the trading session on Wednesday. While the BSE Sensex experienced a decline of around 300 points, the Nifty50 hovered near the 22,200 mark. As of 10:38 AM, the BSE Sensex was trading at 73,118.28, down by 393.57 points or 0.54%, while the Nifty50 stood at 22,211.00, down by 91.50 points or 0.41%.

The previous trading session on Tuesday witnessed volatility in the Indian stock market, with domestic indices opening higher but failing to sustain the gains, eventually closing in the red. On Tuesday, the Sensex concluded 383 points (0.5%) lower at 73,511.85, while the Nifty 50 fell by 141 points (0.6%) to 22,301.50. Among the total stocks traded, 840 advanced, 2,441 declined, and 82 remained unchanged.

In today’s trading, some of the top gainers include Godrej Properties, Rainbow Children’s, Britannia, Blue Dart, and Sundaram Clayton, while Pidilite Industries, Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories, TVS Motor Company, and Asian Paints are among the top losers.
